This Jomon era settlement is thought to have flourished between
4000 to 5500 years ago. Evidence of nearly 600 separate pit dwellings,
1000 graves, and more than 100 pillar-supported buildings have
been discovered here.

Center

Hachinohe City - Koregawa Ruins
This late Jomon Era (10,000 BC -
300 BC) site was designated a National Historic
Site in 1957. 633 items unearthed here have been
named Important Cultural Treasures. Currently, the
Koregawa Ruins Cultural Study Zone is being
operated on the grounds.

Hachinohe City - Nejiro no Hiroba National
Historic Site
This castle appears to have been built in 1334 by Nambu Moroyuki,
of the ruling Nambu Clan. The forge, stables, storehouse, and
central building have all been faithfully recreated.

Minmaya Village - Seikan Tunnel Memorial Museum
The 53.8-km Seikan Tunnel, connecting Honshu and Hokkaido, is
the world's longest. The museum is home to precious documents,
detailed 3D models, a light and sound introduction to the tunnel's
illustrious history, and even an experiential undersea tunnel
140 m below the surface.
