See exhibitions at Risokyo of a variety of other folk and handicrafts,
or of soba-making using 100% buckwheat ground by the waterwheel.
These items are of course available for purchase as well. Or enjoy
learning about the pottery and culture of ancient Japan at Jomon
Village. Along with these learning programs, Risokyo is also home
to a wonderful iris garden that blooms in early summer, and a
number of hands-on programs. Reservations required one week in
advance.
[Nambu Sakiori Patchwork] Weave strips of cloth together using
a basket in place of a loom, a traditional method in parts of
northern Honshu.
