until mid-May, provides this guided tour to assure that

Hachinohe City -
Kabushima Festival
This festival takes place at
Kabushima Shrine. The area is a Special National Natural
Monument, so designated for the incredible number of seagulls
that use Kabushima as their breeding ground. The festival
includes a mikoshi portable shrine processional, treasure
hunt, and more.

Ajigasawa Town -
Mitsunobu Peony Festival
The peony was the Tsugaru
Clan’s crest, and here at the mansion of Oura Mitsunobu,
1000 peonies are planted in remembrance of the clan founder.
During the festival, a haiku contest, outdoor tea ceremony,
and more are held on the grounds.

Aomori City – East
Hakkoda Azalea Festival
To the east of Mt. Hakkoda,
on the vast plateau of Tashiro Kogen, fields of brilliant
tangerine-hued azaleas bloom against a background of virgin
beech forests. Opening day of the festival features a Korean-style
barbecue, local performing arts, a karaoke competition, tug-of-rope,
and more.

Yokohama Town - Rape Blossom Festival
The
town of Yokohama boasts the most land under rape flower cultivation
in Japan. Enjoy these beautiful yellow flowers from horse
carriage, helicpoter, or even
from the ocean in a fishing boat! You can also participate in a number
of other events including a hike up locally famous Mt. Fukkoshi-Eboshidake
to view the
flowers from above.
