Osorezan Autumn Worship (Mutsu City)
This fall event is held to pray for household safety, a bountiful
harvest, and the peaceful rest of one's ancestors. During the
festival time, mediums called itako ply their craft at this one
of Japan's three most sacred spots.

Hirosaki Castle Chrysanthemum and Fall Foliage
Festival (Hirosaki City)
The spectacularly white Hirosaki Castle, and the green pines and
fiery maples of the surrounding Hirosaki Park provide the backdrop
as flowers large and small crowd together with cascading arrangements
and chrysanthemum dolls in one of northern Honshu's best chrysanthemum
displays.

Hachinohe Chrysanthemum Festival
(Hachinohe City)
In a city whose official flower is the chrysanthemum, it is hardly
a wonder that this festival is quite an event. Chrysanthemum bonsai,
the Miss Chrysanthemum contest, and more are accompanied by a
greening contest and chrysanthemum cultivation instruction.

Towada City Fall Festival “Yuso
Nambu Koma Odori” (Towada City)
The traditional dances, “Nambu Koma Odori” and “New
Nambu Koma Odori,” will be performed, and there will be magnificent
parades of floats. In the evening parades of the 12th and the 13th, Koma
Kaido (selected as one of the 100 most beautiful roads in Japan), will
be lit up and filled with festive sounds, adding an enchanting touch
to the floats and the drum floats.

Ohata Festival (Ohata Town)
The entire town becomes festive with this Hachiman Shrine Festival.
On two of the days, attractions will include parades with 5 kagura sacred
dances, 7 floats, and portable shrines.
