Kenji Festival (Hanamaki City)
September 21 is the anniversary of the death of Hanamaki's prodigal
son. Held in front of the monument to Hanamaki Renaissance man
Miyazawa Kenji's most famous poem, Ame ni mo makezu, this festival
honors the famous author with poetry readings, stage versions
of his stories, and Hanamaki's famous Shishi Odori.

A festival befitting the home of the master sake brewers known as Nambu
Toji. With sake and events spotlighting Ishidoriya's industries, live
